Paul Meier

Paul E. Meier, 81, of Chesterfield, Missouri and formerly of Breese, died Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at his daughter’s residence in Breese surrounded by his wife and children after fighting a long battle with cancer. He was born September 22, 1940 in Breese, son of Edward J. “Lefty” and Catherine Meier, nee Bruegge. He married Carol L. McCain February 16, 1963 in Highland, and she survives in Chesterfield. In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his children, Kathleen (Steve) Meier-Ludwig of Breese, William (Debbie) Meier of St. Louis, Missouri, Amy (David) Hansfield of Wheaton, and David (Alina) Meier of O’Fallon; and 13 grandchildren, Alex, Gabrielle, and Zachary Ludwig, Liam, Abby, and Emmy Meier, Jacob, Noah, Olivia, and Levi Hansfield, and Hannah, Ashton, and Elliot Meier. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Meier. Mr. Meier owned Excel Bottling Company and guided his team for many years to continue the legacy started by his father, Lefty, in 1936. He was a member of Incarnate Word Church in Chesterfield, Missouri and grew up in the St. Augustine Parish family. Paul loved vacationing and spending time with his family. He was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, June 25, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle officiating. Burial followed at St. Dominic/ St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese.
