Gene Hadley Brinkman, 82, died January 31, 2019 at his residence in Clermont, Florida.

He was born in Okawville on January 4, 1937, son of Grover and Leona Brinkman, and they preceded him.

He married Lily Sue Bopp of Trenton on June 7, 1958, and she preceded him.

He is survived by two sons, Steven (Dawn) Brinkman of Orlando, Florida, and Jeffrey (Julie) Brinkman of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina; grandchildren Madison, Ashley and Grant Brinkman, and Erich and Michael Brinkman; a sister, Shirley Kocher of Columbia, Illinois; in-laws Betty Martin and Margie and Carl Bopp, all of Trenton; and nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brinkman was a graduate of Okawville High School, and attended McKendree College in Lebanon, Illinois. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. He was in the insurance business for over 40 years. He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran. In his free time, he enjoyed restoring vintage sports cars and golfing.

The funeral will be Saturday, February 9, 2019, 1 p. m., from Moss Funeral Home in Trenton. Friends may call on the family from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. Interment Trenton Cemetery.

Memorials to the Scleroderma Foundation will be accepted at the funeral home.
